Jessica Swann
Program Manager for Teaching Communities
Jessica is responsible for cultivating and empowering a community of educators, sharing digital resources, and providing training that enables high quality teaching and learning. Her early years were spent as a high school and community college science educator specializing in biology and Earth and space sciences. During this time, she received her masters degree in Instructional Technology from Grand Canyon University. After 10 years of teaching in the classroom, curriculum writing, and providing professional development, she transitioned to ASU to use these skills for the Mars Education program. Here her love for teachers, students, and Earth and space science grew to a passion for developing science literacy through her focus on bringing high-quality, relevant, engaging, NGSS-related curriculum and training. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys camping with her family and embracing her love of Star Wars, Star Trek, and Marvel movies.
